BlackBerry had a good legacy of smartphones but due to the popularity of Android and iOS, the presence of the company faded over the years. The Canada based company recently
announced that it is officially shutting down its hardware business due to losses.
The company recently announced two smartphones, DTEK50 and DTEK60 which are rebranded smartphones, originally made by Alcatel.
Before BlackBerry completely moves out of the smartphone making business, the company could announce its last in-house smartphone which recently leaked as the BlackBerry Mercury. According to the leaked images, we can see that smartphone comes with a physical QWERTY keyboard as well as a touchscreen.
Rumoured specs include a 4.5-inch display with a 3:2 ratio, a 2GHz Qualcomm processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. In the camera department, expect an 18MP shooter at the back and an 18MP camera on the front. BBOS is long gone so it should run on Android, however there is no confirmation if it will be the latest Nougat update.
By the looks of it, the smartphone looks almost finished. But if the company does launch the smartphone, it will be its last crucial attempt to sell its product in the smartphone market.
