Ubisoft’s thirtieth anniversary celebrations are finally coming to a close. The company decided to celebrate its anniversary by giving away free games, one a month, to anyone
that wanted them. This month’s pick, and the last of the freebies, is Assassin’s Creed III.
Assassin’s Creed III is the fifth game in the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise. This is a franchise that’s also managed to polarise gamers, garnering hatred and love in equal measure.
I will admit that I’m in the former camp, but I do respect the franchise for its ambition and artistry.
That said, Assassin’s Creed III is one of the most critically acclaimed games in the series and hey, it’s free, so who am I to complain.
You can grab the game for free at Ubisoft’s dedicated anniversary giveaway site here.
As part of its celebrations, Ubisoft has given away some of its best games, including Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, The Crew and Far Cry: Blood Dragon. Oh, and it’s also giving away 30 random freebies, one for each day of the month of December.
Ubisoft was founded in 1986 by France’s Guillemot family and in these 30 years has grown from a fledgling publisher to one that brushes shoulders with the likes of EA and Valve. The company is currently trying to combat a hostile takeover attempt from Vivendi and rival EA already owns a 19.9 percent stake in the company.
