After a couple of leaks, Samsung has officially announced the new 2017 edition of its J-series. Like last year we get three models, J3, J5 and J7.
According to the company, the smartphones will be launched one by one rather than all at once starting with Galaxy J5 (2017) for $314 (Rs 21,000 approx) in June, the Galaxy J7 (2017) for $382 (Rs 25,000 approx) in July and the Galaxy J3 (2017) for $247 (Rs 16,000 approx) in August.
The Galaxy J7 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB/32 GB internal storage options, a 13 MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, 13 MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture and a 3,600 mAh battery.
The Galaxy J5 offers the same processor, RAM and storage options and cameras. The only difference is the display which is 5.2-inches with HD (1280x720p) resolution and a smaller 3,000 mAh battery.
Lastly, the Galaxy J3, which is the low end variant comes with a 5-inch TFT HD display, a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13 MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, a 5 MP camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front and a 2,400 mAh battery.
The smartphones will be offered in black and gold color options and all of them will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat.
