When you set up your email account on your iPhone or iPad using the Mail app, you can easily send emails back and forth from your device without the hassle of using a computer. The Mail app comes with many amazing features that makes email communication a breeze. You can flag important emails, manage multiple inboxes, easily unsubscribe from mailing lists, and so on
Sometimes you send important emails and wait to receive a reply back. Instead of constantly checking the Mail app to see if any new replies have been received, you can easily set up a notification for that email so that whenever there’s a new reply, you’ll instantly receive a notification.
Such a feature has been around for quite some time, but I suppose that not many users are aware of it. Setting up email reply notifications is quite easy and can be done within a few seconds. In this article, we’ll go through the steps of how you can do it and we’ll also show you how to disable these notifications later on.
How to Enable Email Reply Notifications on iPhone and iPad
Step 1: Open the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.Step 2: Now open the email for which you want to enable reply notifications.
- If you want to enable notifications for an email that you just sent, then you’ll find the email in the Sent folder.
Step 4: From the menu that pops up, choose Notify Me…, then tap on Notify Me again to confirm.
And that’s it. It’s as simple as this to set up notifications for email replies. Now whenever a reply is sent to this particular email thread, you’ll instantly get a notification on your device. This way you’ll never miss out on important email replies that arrive on your iPhone or iPad.
How to Disable Email Reply Notifications
Step 1: Launch the Mail app on your iPhone or ipad.
Step 2: Find and open the email for which you want to disable reply notifications. A tiny bell icon is shown next to this email to indicate that notifications are enabled for this particular email thread.
Step 3: Next, tap on the flag icon in the bottom left corner, then choose Stop Notifying.
Now you will no longer receive any notifications for new replies to this particular email. You can however re-enable it later on if you change your mind.
For those who use the Mail app frequently on their iOS device, this feature will come in handy. I’ve used it a couple of times before and it has been very useful to stay on top of important email replies.
