Samsung has launched Galaxy A series smartphones today which is earlier than the rumoured date of 5 January 2017. The company has decided to concentrate to the reputable Galaxy A series after the disastrous last year with the premium Samsung Galaxy
Note series. The company has announced three smartphones, Samsung Galaxy A7, Samsung Galaxy A5 and Samsung Galaxy A3 before CES 2017 starts.
The Galaxy A7 sports a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display panel 1920 x 1080p. The internals includes a 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and support for LTE category 6 network speeds. The smartphone includes a 16MP camera with aperture f/1.9 on the back and a 16MP camera with aperture f/1.9 on the front. The device sports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, and NFC, microSD card support as connectivity options along with Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint and Barometer sensors. A 3,600mAh Fast Charging battery with USB Type-C port and IP68 rating completes the package.
The next in line, Galaxy A5 sports a 5.2-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, and a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging. All other features are identical to the ones present in the Galaxy A7. The smallest and the lightest Galaxy A3 sports a 4.7-inch HD display, LTE cat 6 network access, 2GB of RAM, and a 1.6GHz quad-core processor along with a 2,350mAh battery. All other features are similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S5. All three run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.
One interesting thing to note is that Samsung launched Samsung Galaxy A series 2016 smartphones almost a month ago in India. So it will be quite some time before the smartphones make their way to the Indian market.
